For vista, it is very similar with XP, example is to use English (en):
- go to control panel, system, advanced system settings
- click Environment variables..
- add new environment variable (click New...):
variable name: LANG
variable value: en - Ok. Finish.
That's all :)
Thank's !! That worked perfectly !

ReplyDeleteyesss it worked ! thank you so much, you saved me ! :]
ReplyDeleteBut frankly, this is really stupid. People put in thousands of hours to develop GIMP. The first thing I got into problem with was totally fucked up language. Yes, I'm from Sweden, but most people I know run English as standard language for software tools, just to be compatible with the rest of the world. We really hate when people "automate" stuff. Back to Gimp, how hard would it be to have a language setting in the settings dialogue? They have settings for tons of things that a "purist" would opt for environment variables. No no no, not the Gimpy, I think I'll go back to PhotoShop immediately. Gimp is far behind real commercial software.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU! this helped alot!
ReplyDeleteThanks SO much! It worked like a charm.
ReplyDeleteThis youtube video will show you how if you can't read the operating system language you're running GIMP on.
